Description:
The 10-frame dadant body is called the nest or birth body, because it is in it that the queen bee brood.
However, the full body of the Dadant is also used as a honey extension, especially where there are abundant benefits.
This type of hive is most often used in global apiaries, most often chosen by professional beekeepers who use
itinerant management.
It is appreciated for its small dimensions for this type of hive (10 frames instead of 15 as in the classic addition)
and lightness (the use of polystyrene) and good thermal insulation conditions,
which it provides to the bee family, regardless of the season (in winter it allows to keep warm, in summer it
protects against overheating).
To separate the Dadant nest body from the next body, located higher, in which the bees are to store honey,
we recommend the use of a Dadant baffle bar (sold separately).
The openings in the grate allow the workers to get to the extension,
while the queen bee, which is larger, will remain in the lower body where it will brood.
This prevents the combs in which the honey is to be stored from turning red. [TK can be linked here with a barrier grille]
As is commonly known - the brood frames do not spin.
Ten-frame Dadant bodies can be stacked to enlarge the space in the hive, e.g. for honey.
You can also place the body on e.g. a cover when feeding a bee colony.
There are 2 vents in the body. If necessary, you can plug them or secure them with plugs with a strainer (included).
The Dadant body made of polystyrene is light, but so that after filling with brood or honey frames it can still be
easily moved, the structure has a special profiling to facilitate gripping.
In addition, it is safe - it does not contain any protruding parts.
The dadant body has been painted with a special paint and does not require additional protection against external
conditions. The bodies can be decontaminated with a caustic soda solution.
The most sensitive places in the body, such as corners or cutters, have been reinforced with hard plastic.
You can easily set the bodies to great heights, e.g. during honey picking or store them in a warehouse,
or pry them with a chisel during inspections
Our bodies have been used in apiaries for many years and during this time we have refined their construction to
improve the comfort of your work in the apiary, and to provide your bees with the best conditions for development.
We are convinced that these two key elements have a positive impact on the production efficiency of your apiary.
The nest bodies house the nest of a bee colony.
In most types of hives, they are used as extensions (honey storage).
There are 10 or 12 nest frames in the nest body.
Each polystyrene body has one vent. This opening is closed, if necessary, with a trapezoidal plastic ventilation plug,
with openings allowing air flow or a tight styrofoam plug. It can also be an additional outlet.
In the outer plane of the walls of the bodies there are grooves that enable gripping and carrying the bodies.
