Diagonal Honey Extractors

Diagonal Honey Extractor – The Ideal Choice for a Small Apiary

A diagonal honey extractor (also known as a tangential extractor) is an excellent solution for beginner beekeepers and those who produce honey mainly for their own needs. It is also perfectly suited for migratory apiaries or as a backup model in larger beekeeping operations.

How does a diagonal honey extractor work?

In a diagonal extractor, the frames are placed parallel to the drum wall. The spinning process takes place in two stages:

  1. Honey is extracted from one side of the comb.

  2. The beekeeper must then manually flip the frames to extract the honey from the other side.

It is crucial to set the appropriate spinning speed to avoid damaging the delicate combs.

The diagonal model is highly effective and ideal for apiaries with anywhere from a few to a dozen hives, allowing for the simultaneous spinning of 2, 3, 4, or more frames. It is distinguished by its high efficiency in honey extraction.
