Apitec has been committed for years to exploring and supporting innovative ways to increase the value of bee products, thereby enhancing and improving the economic performance of Polish apiaries. In 2026, this wonderful event promoting a positive image of the beekeeping industry took place in Krakow from February 19-21.
The focal point of the event was the European Meadmakers' Conference (EMM), which featured two prestigious competitions. The first was the Mead Madness Cup (MMC) – the world's largest mead competition. The competition (February 19-20, 2026) took place in the home (HOME) and commercial (PRO) categories, with the Grand Champion titles at stake. The second competition was the Honey Madness Cup (HMC), focused on assessing the organoleptic quality of honeys. Due to its rigorous standards, the HMC competition has a strict limit of 200 samples.
The European Mead Makers' Conference (February 19-21, 2026) is a multi-day event featuring lectures from enthusiasts and global industry leaders, focused on networking, sharing experiences, and tastings. You can always expect a wealth of knowledge, examples of good and bad practices, technological support, and meetings with companies specializing in the production of mead maker equipment and companies assisting in establishing such investments.
