Sectional queen isolator for Wielkopolska frames, designed for combined biotechnological methods.

Description

The sectional isolator is used in a combined method of queen isolation (broodless method) with a brood method for biotechnological varroa control.

The instructions for using the isolator were developed by Olszewski K., Heiko Ebermann, Varroaresistenz-Poland (the full instructions are available for download in the "Download Files" tab).

Combined biotechnological methods for varroa control are recommended by the University of Life Sciences in Lublin and Varroaresistenz 2033.

Is it possible? Can we keep healthy bees within 10 years that are resistant to Varroa mites, using only mild, drug-free, or no treatments at all? Yes, it is possible. Numerous successful projects in recent years, including those in Luxembourg, Austria, and Germany, have proven this. The goal is to select honey bees for natural Varroa resistance, spread these genetic traits, and thus improve the health of the overall bee population.

On May 19, 2022, important European beekeeping associations met in Neuenstein-Aua, Hesse, and agreed to jointly pursue this path for the next 10 years. They agreed to dedicate all their efforts to achieving the goal of establishing Varroa-resistant honey bee populations.
